Residential
Services and Advocacy: The
Woman's Advocate assists residents to increase their independence
through improved access to safety and to legal, medical, social,
financial, educational, transportation, housing assistance,
and other supports. A needs assessment is completed, goals
are set and objectives with time lines are defined. |

Non-Residential
Services and Advocacy: This program is designed to
provide safety, services, and advocacy to women who choose
to come into shelter |
|
Legal
Advocacy: The
Legal Advocacy provides information about legal options, assistance
in obtaining temporary protective orders (TPO); assistance
with filing victim's compensation; court accompaniment; and
liaison with and referrals to appropriate legal, law enforcement
and criminal justice professionals. |

Support
Groups: The Support Groups are
offered weekly to battered women and their children. The facilitator
assists women in addressing safety issues, the dynamics of
abuse, the importance of developing support systems, accessing
available options and building self-sufficiency skills. A
children's group runs concurrently. |
Children's
Programs: This program
is run by the Children's Program Coordinator who accesses
children's needs, provides support for mothers, assures child
care for women to attend necessary appointments and support
groups, conducts weekly children's group and develops and
provides educational curricula to school systems. |
Volunteer
Program: Volunteers assist staff
in providing many direct and indirect services including telephone
crisis intervention, transportation, housing and grounds maintenance,
working with children, running errands or offering professional
services. |
